Performing arts programming is growing at BTA. Students perform in choirs, chapel bands, the step team, and dramatic productions. All students have certain performing arts requirements as well.
The middle school has produced A Midsummer’s Night Dream, Tom Sawyer, and Who Killed Aunt Caroline. Upper school drama students have staged You Can’t Take it With You, Our Town, The Admirable Chrichton, and Arms and the Man. For each play, students and faculty, as well as parents have created sets and costumes that rival professional theatre productions. Whether speaking Elizabethan English or dancing in step, students learn to memorize their parts and to transform them into a cohesive production. Every performance helps to draw the community together further as the students learn to play to their audience.
