International Applicants

Boston is a world-class city for education. Boston Trinity Academy proudly offers an exceptional education to international students from around the globe. We provide rigorous academics, small class sizes, and a successful college placement program.

Our student body includes students from Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America. Each new student is paired with a current student and faculty advisor to assist with their transition to the school. We offer ESL courses and individual tutoring support, but integrate international students into our regular programs so they receive all the benefits of a Boston Trinity education.

Internationals students graduating from Boston Trinity have been accepted at such prestigious colleges as MIT, Stanford University, Columbia University, Carnegie Mellon University, UC Berkeley, the University of Virginia, Boston College, Boston University, and Wellesley College.

Homestay Program

Our Office of Admission coordinates a homestay program, reviewing the needs of each student and recommending suitable host families, typically in homes with other Boston Trinity students. The living environment is carefully monitored to ensure students are safe, happy, and well taken care of. Additional costs for uniform, books, and sports equipment are kept as low as possible to reduce the financial burden for families. Financial aid is not available for international students.

English Requirements

The education at Boston Trinity Academy requires a thorough command of the English language in order to succeed. To demonstrate command of the English language, all international applicants are required to take a standardized English test and submit their score report as part of their application.

Immigration and Visa Information

All international students are required to have an F-1 Visa. Boston Trinity Academy provides I-20 forms for international students who have been admitted and enrolled at Boston Trinity.

When to Apply

International admission is considered on a rolling basis, meaning that preference is given to students who apply early, but applications will be considered as long as space is available.

How to Apply

  1. Submit the Online Application

    Boston Trinity Academy uses a paperless, online application system called Ravenna. Applicants and their families can complete their applications, submit essays, and collect teacher references online, from any computer. To begin your application, you'll need to create a Ravenna account. Just click Apply below and you'll be on your way! Of course, if you have any questions, we are here to help you each step of the way.

  2. Pay the Application Fee

    An application fee of $250 is required in order for your application to be considered. This may be paid through Ravenna, our online application system.

  3. Submit Recommendation Forms

    Three recommendations, from the student's current teachers and an administrator who knows the student well, should be submitted on the forms linked to below:The recommendations are confidential documents and so the completed forms should be e-mailed directly back to Boston Trinity by the teacher or administrator concerned to the following e-mail address: admission@bostontrinity.org

  4. Submit a Transcript

    An up-to-date transcript from the student's current school must be submitted as part of the application. The transcript release form should be signed by a parent and given to an administrator or registrar at the current school well in advance of the application deadline. Transcripts should cover at least the last three years of school. Electronic copies of official transcripts may be sent to: admission@bostontrinity.org.

  5. Submit English Test Scores

    The education at Boston Trinity Academy requires a thorough command of the English language in order to succeed. To demonstrate command of the English language, all international applicants are required to take a standardized English test and submit their score report as part of their application.
    • For students applying to the Upper School (grades 9-12), either a TOEFL or IELTS score report must be submitted.
    • For students applying to the Middle School (grades 6-8), either a TOEFL Junior or iTEP SLATE score report must be submitted.
    It is highly recommended that students register for a test as soon as possible to ensure that the results of the test are available in good time.

  6. Complete an Interview

    It is important for us to get to know all our applicants as well as possible and the interview plays an important role in this. The interview also helps us understand the level of English of our applicants. Interviews for international students may be conducted at Boston Trinity Academy's campus or via Skype.
