[library — materials donations]
Gifts to the Boston Trinity Academy Library collection are welcomed and can be in the form of new or used hardcover or paperback books, as well as audiovisual materials (videos, DVDs and CDs) in good condition, or periodical subscriptions. Gift plates and letters of acknowledgement are offered by the BTA library for all items accepted into the collection. New books and audiovisual items can be selected from Library wish lists compiled by the BTA teaching staff. BTA reserves the right to discard, give away, or dispose of any used books donated to the library which may not be suitable for library use because of the condition or subject matter of the book(s).
- Gifts are inspected by staff or volunteers for odor, water damage, wear, and age.
- BTA library staff will evaluate the donated materials to decide which are appropriate to add to the collection; other materials will be put in the book sale or, if not in acceptable condition, discarded.
- A letter of acknowledgment will be sent to the donor if desired. However, the Library cannot appraise books or indicate a dollar value for used item donations.
- All donors should complete the library materials donation form for new or used books.
